The ideal applicant demonstrates enthusiasm, the ability to work in a team, independent thought, an outstanding academic record (eventually completed with a qualified work experience) and is fluent in one or more foreign languages. The candidate must have strong English or Spanish skills, and multilingual applicants are especially encouraged.
He or she must be a practicing attorney licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction. Finally, the ideal candidate must have a strong interest in becoming familiar with the Italian, the European and the American legal system.
Commitment, curiosity, self challenging and accuracy are the qualities required for the position. The candidate will be required to work mainly in English and Italian.
The Trainee Lawyer will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the office including general responsibility for the administration of firm’s policies and programs, and will have direct responsibility for human resources and office services.
The candidate’s assignments will correspond to skill level and subject matter knowledge. His or her work expectancy will be comparable to that of a junior associate attorney.
Candidates will have opportunities to attend client meetings, hearings and trials. Closings will be available to the visiting foreign attorneys participating in this Program and attendance will be encouraged by the Firm.
The candidate chosen will provide organizational and operational support to our office in Rome via the management of diaries, reception of customers, organizing of meetings and appointments, support in organizing travel, handling mail, writing and translation of documents into English.
The ideal candidate – a native English speaker – has a maximum age of 28 and preferably has gained previous experience in a similar role as a legal secretary. We offer a contract for a period of one month plus an eventual extension.
